SGK Service Credit

Selected daily earnings, statutory rate and accepted days determine an SGK service-credit payment. Type, documents and notice deadlines matter.

How the amount forms

Daily insurable base × rate × accepted days is the common approach within current floors and ceilings.

The calculator estimates; only the SGK notice states the payable debt.

Daily floors rise over time; last year’s café advice is stale. Always pull current min/max bases from SGK notices or the application screen.

Credit categories

Military, maternity and other credits have different day caps and documents. Do not reuse one template for all.

Maternity credits across multiple children depend on prior use and insurance status. Military credits need clear proof of countable periods. Wrong type selection breaks both price and accepted days.

Start-date effects

Only some pre-insurance periods can pull the start date earlier. Separate EYT eligibility questions from payment maths.

Notice and payment window

Missing the SGK payment deadline can void the application. Calendar the notice date and read instalment options from the text.

Do not schedule payment on a self-made estimate before the official notice exists. Once served, fund the deadline first; restarting applications wastes months.

Choosing the daily base

A higher base raises the bill; pension effects vary by file. “Always max” is not automatically optimal.

Near an EYT day threshold, a few days at a high base can be expensive versus completing days at a lower base. Compare with the pension estimator, remembering SGK still decides.

Documents

Incomplete files delay processing. Follow current SGK/e-Government steps. Informational only, not legal representation.

Foreign service credits may need translations, apostilles and treaty checks. This general guide cannot cover every cross-border checklist—follow the competent unit’s list.

Practical tips

  • Pick the correct credit type.
  • Prove acceptable days with documents.
  • Use current earnings floors/ceilings.
  • Calendar the notice payment window.
  • Ask start-date effects separately from EYT myths.
